A ♦ — About

Twenty years, one card at a time.

Freddy has spent two decades working rooms most magicians only get a few minutes in — the space between your hand and his, at a wedding table, a corporate reception, a rooftop bar. No stage, no volunteers pulled from the crowd against their will, no props bigger than a deck of cards. Just a trick you'll swear you watched closely enough to catch, and didn't.

That close-up style took him through venues across Europe and Asia, building a reputation on word of mouth and repeat bookings rather than advertising. He's now based back in the UK and taking on a select number of private and corporate dates each season.

2 ♣ — The Work

The trick isn't the card. It's the moment right after.

Freddy's act is built for close quarters — a table, a bar top, a small circle of guests with nowhere to hide their reaction. The same beat plays out every time: total focus, then total disbelief.

Rooftop, New York
Before Guests leaning in, wide-eyed, as Freddy reveals the Ace of Diamonds mid-trick

The build. Every eye on the same card, right up until it isn't the card they expected.

The Reveal A wider group of guests reacting with shock and delight as Freddy shows the winning card

And there it is. This is the shot every host wants at their event — genuine, unposed, every time.

Theatre Night, UK
Close-Up Freddy holding up a chosen card, the Four of Hearts, in front of an amused seated crowd against a red theatre curtain

Same principle on a theatre night — the crowd's this close even when the room is bigger.

Mid-Trick Freddy tossing playing cards into the air mid-routine, smiling, with the audience laughing behind him

Cards in the air, timing on a beat — the flourish work that bridges close-up into a stage set.

3 ♥ — Press & Reviews

What rooms have said.

The best close-up work we've booked in fifteen years of corporate events. Guests were still talking about it at the bar afterwards.
— Hong Kong Entertainments Ltd. Corporate Events Client
He worked the whole reception table by table and never repeated a beat. Impossible to catch, impossible to stop watching.
— Jem & Kim, Wedding Clients
Sharp, funny, and genuinely baffling. Exactly what a rooftop crowd needed.
— Wellies, Portal Nous, Mallorca

Sample of comments I had across the world.
